Heinztman House Wedding FAQ

1. How much does it cost to rent The Heintzman House?

The venue is very affordable compared to downtown options. For 2024/2025, full-day weekend rentals (Friday–Sunday) are approximately $3,875 (including HST). Weekday rentals (Monday–Thursday) are significantly lower, around $1,660. Hourly rates are also available for shorter events.

2. Can I rent Heintzman House just for photography?

Yes. If you are not hosting a wedding, you can book the house and grounds for a photoshoot. The rate is approximately $149 per hour (minimum 2 hours required). This gives you access to the historic interior, staircase, and manicured gardens without the full event rental fee.

3. What is the capacity of the Grand Ballroom at Heintzman House?

The venue is best for intimate weddings. The Grand Ballroom has a maximum capacity of 113 seated guests. For cocktail-style receptions using the full house, the capacity is slightly higher (approx. 125). It is strictly capped due to fire codes for historic buildings.

4. Is outside catering allowed at Heintzman House?

Yes. Heintzman House allows outside catering, giving you the freedom to choose your own vendors (vital for specific cultural menus or budget control). The venue includes a full warming kitchen for your caterer's use, though you may need to provide your own linens and stemware depending on your rental package.

5. Is parking available at Heintzman House?

Yes. The estate features a large, paved driveway and parking area with complimentary parking for guests. Since the venue is located in a residential area of Markham, overflow parking is generally manageable compared to downtown locations.
