Best Wedding Photography Locations at Liberty Grand

01
The Central Courtyard
The Renaissance Room requires an eye for grand scale. We use low-angle wide shots to emphasize the massive domed ceiling and historic European architecture.

02
Artifacts Room
The Central Courtyard provides rare open-air light within the historic structure. It’s the ideal spot for unscripted cocktail candids under the classic Renaissance arches.

03
Governor’s Room
The massive stone pillars of Exhibition Place offer a monumental backdrop. We use the architectural scale to create cinematic "grand scale" shots that feel like a movie.

04
The Red Carpet Staircase
A quick stroll to the Lake Ontario waterfront offers epic sunset views. We use the open horizon to create airy, romantic portraits as a contrast to the venue’s grand stone architecture.

The Liberty Grand Experience: From Our Couples
"We used Lucas & his associates as our wedding photographer and it was the best choice we made. Not only were they extremely professional and creative with their shots, they helped guide us during the official shoot. They’ve got a ton of cool gadgets used to elevate traditional wedding photos and an eye for the perfect shot. You can really tell they both love what they do as they took both our shot list into consideration and created their own unique ideas on the spot. If you’re a type A bride or not fully comfortable with the whole photography experience, these are your people. Throughout the evening, Lucas showed us shots and checked in on us to see if there were any additional photos we wanted. On such a nerve wracking day, both Lucas and Masood made us feel so confident, my husband now thinks he should be in GQ. Highly recommend."

Liberty Grand Wedding FAQ
1. Do I need a permit to take photos outside Liberty Grand?
If you are hosting your wedding at Liberty Grand, you have complimentary access to the private central courtyard and the venue's interior for photos. However, if you wish to take photos at the nearby Princes' Gates, fountains, or Exhibition Place grounds, a separate permit from the City/Exhibition Place (approx. $300 + HST) is required.
2. What is the capacity of the Artifacts Room vs. Governors Room?
The Governors Room is the largest space, capable of seating 800 guests for dinner or up to 1,500 for a standing reception. The Artifacts Room, popular for its modern-industrial vibe, seats up to 300 guests (dinner) or 1,200 (standing). The Renaissance and Centennial rooms also seat ~300 guests each.
3. How much does a wedding at Liberty Grand cost?
Packages for 2025 generally range from $120 to $160+ per person (plus tax and service). This typically includes the venue rental, catering, standard bar, and staffing. Note that a "Landmark Fee" (often 15%) is usually applied to third-party rentals or decor brought into the venue.
4. What happens if it rains during a courtyard ceremony at Liberty Grand?
Liberty Grand has excellent indoor backups. The venue features massive indoor domes and wide, historic hallways with natural light that serve as beautiful rain-safe locations for photos. Ceremonies can be moved into the foyer or ballroom depending on the specific room you have booked.
5. Is there free parking at Liberty Grand?
No. Liberty Grand is located within Exhibition Place, which manages all parking. Guests must pay for parking in the adjacent surface lots. Prices vary depending on other events happening at the CNE/Exhibition grounds (e.g., TFC games or concerts) but typically range from $15 to $20 per vehicle.
