One King West Wedding FAQ
1. Can I take photos in The Vault at One King West without a wedding?
Generally, no. The Vault (the historic bank vault in the basement) is a private event space. Access is strictly reserved for couples who have booked their wedding at the hotel. If the space is not booked, the hotel may grant access to hotel guests or permit holders on a case-by-case basis, but unauthorized "walk-in" photography is stopped by security.
2. How much does a wedding at One King West cost?
Wedding packages for 2025 typically start around $149 – $160 per person (plus tax and gratuity) for off-peak or winter dates. Full "high season" packages are priced higher. The hotel often offers incentives, such as 12% off for full package bookings on select dates.
3. What is the capacity of the Grand Banking Hall vs. Austin Gallery?
The Grand Banking Hall is the largest venue, seating up to 300 guests with a dance floor (or 500 standing). The Austin Gallery, which overlooks the banking hall, is perfect for mid-sized weddings, accommodating up to 100 seated guests or 300 for a cocktail reception.
4. Do I need a permit to take engagement photos on the Grand Staircase?
Yes. If you are not hosting your wedding there, you must inquire about a photography permit. Permits are limited, subject to availability, and can often only be booked 7 days in advance to ensure they do not conflict with paid events. The Grand Staircase and Lobby are high-traffic areas, so access is tightly controlled.
5. Does One King West have a separate room for wedding ceremonies?
Yes. Many couples choose to host their ceremony in the Austin Gallery (for its dramatic balcony views) or the Chairman’s Boardroom (historic wood paneling) before moving to the Grand Banking Hall for the reception. "Fifteen Hundred" (the penthouse suite) is also popular for intimate ceremonies with a skyline view.
