Hamilton divides into three visually distinct zones — the waterfall gorges of the Niagara Escarpment, the estate landscapes of Ancaster, and the industrial heritage character surrounding Tivoli Theatre and Liuna Station downtown. Working throughout Hamilton and the western Golden Horseshoe, I build timelines around the city’s dramatic topography, where escarpment forests and shifting elevation create cinematic lighting conditions rarely found elsewhere in Southern Ontario.

The Golden Hour I prioritize escarpment portraits during the final 60 minutes of light, when the sun drops toward Lake Ontario and catches the gorge walls and canopy from the west. Ancaster Mill Hamilton's most distinctive heritage venue — a restored 1792 grist mill defined by hand-cut stone, exposed timber, and the Crooks Hollow gorge immediately behind the property. Late afternoon light rakes across the millstone facade and the creek below, where I capture candid moments against textures that predate Confederation.
