The drive works for arrival photos and a first walk together. Tall trees on both sides filter the sun, so you're out of direct light and not squinting. I keep you in the shaded stretches and watch for bright gaps between the trees that can flare across the gown.
The Cathedral of Trees & Wooden Bridge
The forest ceremony is dark at ground level with spots of sun coming through the branches, and those spots can land on faces unevenly. I check where the light falls at your ceremony time and place you in it evenly. The wooden bridge is a good spot for portraits afterward.
The Abbott's Chamber Bridal Suite
Getting ready in the Abbott's Chamber is cozy, but the slanted ceilings and small windows leave some corners dark and put bright beams on others. I set up your dress and details in the window light and keep the dark corners out of the frame.
The Timber Frame Great Hall
The raw timber beams throw an orange tint onto skin, so the Great Hall needs careful lighting to keep you looking natural. It's also the rain backup for the forest ceremony, so your portraits indoors look as rich as they would outside.

The property changes considerably with the light, particularly beneath the dense tree canopy where dappled sunlight can shift quickly throughout the day.
I work with the estate team to make the most of the grounds without disrupting the flow of the wedding. Shaded woodland paths, the stone bridges, and open areas catching late-day light offer plenty of variety for portraits, while direct access from 5 Line and on-site parking keep arrivals simple for the wedding party and vendors.
